There have been many delays but the cafe at the Rockland Community College Hospitality and Culinary Arts Center in Nyack is now open to the public. The college opened to students on October 22 and a grand opening is scheduled for November 14. The cafe offers both hot and cold items including baked goods, soups, sandwiches , and custom salads. They also feature coffee from a local vendor Java Love. The goal says the department chairman is for the students to run and manage the cafe. Actually some of the food the students make during their classes will be a part of the cafes offerings.
In addition to breakfast and lunch items Hudson Market on Main Street also features items sourced from Hudson Valley vendors, which is a key component of the colleges curriculum. The 45 seat cafe features counter seats by the window as well as tables inside. The Culinary Arts Center is a welcome addition to downtown Nyack, and we wish it well.
