Yes the never ending project is finally done. The Footbridge project, an ADA compliant pedestrian footbridge over the water inlet separating Nyack’s Memorial Park from the Village’s public boat launches and Village Marina is now a reality. The Memorial Park Footbridge project is key to the development of a new pedestrian walkway along the Nyack waterfront linking Memorial Park and the newly rehabilitated Nyack Marina. This project was funded in-part with a $195,000 grant through the New NYBridge Community Benefits Program. There are plans to extend the public walkway north to the Nyack Boat Club through a new waterfront park that will be constructed during the development of a residential project on Gedney Street. I remember 20 years ago as a Nyack board member trying to make this project happen. Kudos to all who made this Nyack Dream come true.
