A few years ago someone came up with the idea that vacant Nyack storefronts should become mini galleries during the winter holiday season. Nyack village officials quickly got onboard and contaced the Nyack landlords who were very receptive and the #Nyackwindowproject was born. This year the project kicked off on December13, and it is almost as much fun to watch pedestrians stop and look at the various windows as it is to view the creations themselves. As a supporter of the arts I have always sponsored an artist for the project in each of its three years. I love the idea of shopping locally , and these windows are another reason to get shoppers to frequent the Nyack downtown with all its shops, cafes, and restaurants.
